Welcome to another edition of WEEKEND ROUNDUP, where we discuss this weekends box office results. The TOP 3 this weekend were The Amazing Spider-Man, Neighbors, and The Other Woman.
Mother's Day weekend saw the release of the new Seth Rogan/Zac Efron comedy, Neighbors, which took the top spot, reigning over the box office this week. It managed to push The Amazing Spider-Man 2 down a spot, while The Other Woman took #3.
FROZEN UPDATE: In its 25th week on the big screen, Frozen has inched closer to taking the #5 spot bringing its worldwide total to $1.19 billion.
Let's take a look at how the Top 3 did this weekend...
1. NEIGHBORS
The new and hilarious comedy, Neighbors, struck gold this weekend, bringing in $49 million. This is the best opening for a Seth Rogan film, and is definitely deserving.
2. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 saw a significant drop in its second week, bringing in a modest $35.5 million. This is a 61% drop from its $91.6 million opening weekend. This puts its domestic total at $146.2 million and its worldwide total at $550.9 million.
3. THE OTHER WOMAN
This year's newest comedy, The Other Woman has dropped down to the #3 spot this week, bringing in $9.6 million. That brings its domestic total up to $62 million.
