Welcome to day 9 of The 10 Days of Stephen King, tonight we present to you Misery. Misery is the tale of a fan who takes things a little too far. It's the story of Annie Wilkes a fan of novelist Paul Sheldon who she rescues from a horrible car accident. He's seriously injured and needs medical attention but it's okay Annie is or was a nurse once upon a time. Paul seems to be grateful for Annie's help like any person should be in his situation. but he soon goes from patient to prisoner in a matter of a days. The characters push the story so far because the plot is so simple yet they keep you on your feet and engaged.

10 Days of Stephen King: The Dead Zone

Welcome to day 7 of the 10 days of Stephen King and on this very special day we shall enter a place called the Dead Zone. Based on King's 1979 novel and directed by David Cronenberg The Dead Zone focuses on Johnny Smith a young teacher played in this film by the one and only Christopher Walken, who after a horrible accident falls into a coma for many years. When he finally awakens he has a psychic ability that gives him the power to see the past, the present, and the future just by coming in contact with an object or even person. this power will change the course of his life.

A sticky mess of a sequel.

I'm happy day 666 of our 10 days of Stephen King was short. Because, it was insufferable. The segway animations are very 80's and not in a good way. They have a very sloppy and rushed feeling about them. And it's that exact sentiment that plagues the rest of Creepshow 2.

To be fair this might be my favorite George A. Romero film since; it was the first one I ever saw. Now don't take favorite to mean his best work. Because, this isn't his best work. But, it is worth finding a copy.  I saws this before I knew who George A. Romero was. Maybe it's not his best but it's pretty damn entertaining and it has a lot of pulpy fun.

DAY 3

The Mist is a really great movie filled with great performances, including the deepest performance Thomas Jane has ever committed to film. The film is nerve racking in the best way and, much like the novella of the same title, is a study of society and how it breaks down on a macroscopic scale. But, if you're watching it in color you're watching it wrong.

10 Days of Stephen King: Carrie (2013)

With 10 days left until the best holiday of the year we've decided to review 10 horror films based on the works of the master himself H.P. Love...wait, no, I mean Stephen King, of course. We're starting with Carrie and ending on The Shining. So, is this cyber age remake worth checking out? Read on to find out.

Insidious: Chapter 2 - A New Twist On An Old Genre

This past summer has had it's fair share of horror movies, including The Purge, The Conjuring, and You're Next, but none, in my opinion, break the horror mold as well as the sequel to the successful 2011 micro-budgeted, James Wan horror film, Insidious.  Filled with great scares, interesting storytelling and a wonderful cast, Insidious: Chapter 2 is definitely one of my favorite horror movies to come out this year.

Why The Conjuring Being the Best Horror Film of the Year is the Worst Thing to Happen to Movies

I'm with South Park on this one when I say The Bar (yes, it's important enough to be capitalized) has been lowered. Yes, The Conjuring will probably be widely considered the best horror film of the year by many movie goers and critics. We gave it an excellent review here at Previously Untitled. But, if this was the 70's we wouldn't have given it such a high score. Just google 1970's horror movies. This isn't going to be an argument about originality or storytelling. It's an argument about how to haunt someone and getting your moneys worth. So, they check every single closet at home and sleep with the lights on. This is an argument on how we should expect and demand more from our horror films than some cheap scares.
