The 12 Days of The Star Wars Holiday Special

If you approach The Star Wars Holiday Special the way you might approach an episode of Tim and Eric: Awesome Show: Great Job! than you are in for a treat. There are some truly creepy and bizzare moments in this show. But, if you are serious person who does not have access to drugs or alcohol; than this is not the holiday special for you. You should watch The Christmas Shoes, instead.

Prepare to cry, maybe.

This is a truly, awesomely, terrible Star Wars mess. It's not a very exciting mess and the fact that about half the dialogue is spoken in Wookie, doesn't make it any better. But, if you suffer through it, you'll be delightfully rewarded. You'll learn how to prepare Bantha Surprise and you'll be treated to a plethora of musical numbers. Including a special song and dance number preformed by Bea Arthur and a holographic treat from Jefferson Starship.

What makes this Christmasy?

Well, there is a dance number preformed by a dance troupe in red and green leotards. There's an important message about being together as a family during the holidays. There's toy ads. But, it delivers the biggest Life Day Christmas present of them all the first appearance of Boba Fett in a jaunty little cartoon that reminded me of Heavy Metal (minus the bosoms (Can I say tits?)).

You can watch the whole thing here.

If you choose to enjoy The Star Wars Holiday Special, than I hope the force is strong with you.
